2004 World Combat Sambo Championship
REGULATIONS
1. Goals and Objectives:
- popularization and development of Combat Sambo as an International sports event;
- development and strengthening of friendly ties among the Russian Combat Sambo fighters and those of other countries of the world;
- propaganda of the healthy life-style by the example of Combat Sambo schools, sports and cultural development in Dagestan.
2. Participants
The athletes representing National teams in Combat Sambo (no more than 2 men in the weight) are admitted to the competitions, as well as individual contestants – finalists of the World, European and National championships, winners of Combat Sambo and other Combat Arts International tournaments not younger than 18 years of age. The admission is accomplished by the Referees’ Board on the basis of presented documents.
3. Direction of the World Championship
General management on the preparation and conduct of the world Championship shall be realized by the Organizing Committee approved by the Board of the Russian Combat Sambo Federation and the World Association of Combat Sambo clubs.
The Referees’ Board, approved by the organizing Committee, shall be responsible for the conduct of the competitions.
4. Time and Venue
The world Combat Sambo championship will be held on December 17-18, 2004 in the Sports complex of the Dagestan State Pedagogic University by the address: 57, 26 Bakinsky Commissars street, Makhachkala, Dagestan, Russia.
5. Dress
Participant’s sports uniform shall be: Sambo jacket and shorts of red or blue color. It is compulsory to use gloves, gum shields and groin guards. Sports shoes shall be with soft sole. It is allowed to perform shoeless. Soft protective helmet without the visor and open chin and hand wraps are allowed by participants’ request.
6. Weight categories
Contestants are admitted to the competitions in the following weight categories:
57 kg, 62 kg, 68 kg, 74 kg, 82 kg, up to 90 kg, over 90 kg.
7. System and Method
The competitions shall be individual-team and will be held by Olympic system in accordance with the Rules of the Russian Combat Sambo Federation, approved by the Federation Board in 2003.
8. Duration of the Bout.
Definition of the Winner
The time of the bout shall be 5 minutes. The winner shall be defined by the Rules set by the Russian Combat Sambo Federation.
9. Financial Terms
Travel expenses concerning participants, referees/judges and representatives as well as their insurance shall be paid by sending organizations.
Expenses concerning the arrangement and conduct of the Championship shall be paid by the Organizing Committee.
10. Entry

11. Documents to be Presented to Mandate Commission
- passport or any other paper with the photo identifying the person;
- personal entry (with the name of the country, the name and patronymic, birthday, sports level and achievements, weight category), signed by the team coach and the doctor, certified by the Combat Sambo Federation (club) of the country – representative or the respective Federation Combat Arts presented;
- medical certificate for individuals;
- life and health insurance ;
- two pictures 3x4.

13. Awarding
Champions and prize-winners will be awarded with medals, diplomas and costly presents. Champions’ coaches will be awarded with diplomas and valuable prizes.
The teams will be awarded with diplomas and Cups. The finalists of the World Championship will be given the title “International class Master of Combat Sambo” by the classification of the Association of World Combat Sambo clubs. |
